Desai Wang is a U.S. Student Fulbright Scholar at NUS BUDS Lab in 2024-2025. She is researching how digital twins can enable urban designers and planners in heat mitigation planning. She graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture and Minor in Computer Science from Cornell University, where she was named a Merrill Presidential Scholar (top 1% of graduating class). She was a student researcher at the Cornell Environmental Systems Lab led by Assoc. Prof. Timur Dogan from 2021-2024.

Currently, Desai aims to explore the potential of integrating digital twin technologies, using the BEAM DT as case study, in urban design and urban planning workflows related to heat mitigation and human thermal comfort. She is conducting interviews with urban designers and planners to assess the usability of a digital twin platform for heat-related planning.
