Dr. Filip Biljecki is an Assistant Professor at the National University of Singapore (NUS). At NUS, he founded the Urban Analytics Lab, a multidisciplinary research group specializing in geospatial technologies and urban informatics.

With a background in Geomatic Engineering and GIScience, complemented by computational and data science skills, Filip received both his MSc and PhD degrees from Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands, focusing on 3D city modeling and digital twins. His current work lies at the intersection of 3D GIS, computer science, data science, and geomatics, drawing on his experience in the geospatial industry.

Filip has been honored with the Young Researcher Award in GIScience by the Austrian Academy of Sciences and the best doctoral research in GIS in Europe by EuroSDR (an association of European government mapping agencies and universities). He has also served as Co-Chair in the Open Geospatial Consortium, as a Council Fellow at the World Economic Forum, and as an Academic Editor for PLOS ONE. Additionally, he has received multiple awards for teaching, including the College Teaching Excellence Award (NUS).
